I'm Grateful for My Children Because
My thoughts came freely. This time the topic is "Me Time" and my thoughts are a jumbled mess. Why is it so much easier for me to express my thoughts about my children, but not myself? Their needs, but not my own?
I suspect it's because I feel uncomfortable taking time for myself. It's not that I don't feel I deserve it. (My self-esteem is intact.) It's just that it doesn't seem to be the best use of my time. But, you'll burn out otherwise! Yes, maybe so. I've definitely had those moments when I've been a crumpled mess on the floor in my laundry room. Then again, five people's worth of laundry is enough to make anyone cry!
So then it occurred to me . . .

Wow interesting topics....I have so many thoughts rambling right now of stories to write, rewrite, I am going to have to write them down for further consideration..

You are so right!! I find peace and am actually relaxed when i'm typing up my product reveiws or working on my new ecommerce site. It is me time and i look forward to it everyday!
I think my subconscious gives me Me-time everytime I start to doze off early on the couch and realize I can't do any more schoolwork that night. Amazing how that can perk me up!
I sometimes feel the same way about my work. It's nice to get away from the wife and mother roles. But I do admit to needing time alone to decompress before I step back into the mommy/honey roles.
I feel that way too - the lunch hour alone when I can sit at my desk and just blog surf or write... I actually miss that on the weekends! :)
Could I talk you into including a
10 minute walk in your ME time.

You know, I often think that if I didn't work, I would have time to myself to recharge and feel more balanced. But the other day I realized that work is like my only connection with other adults most days. And I would probably miss it.

Hmmm.... for me, I feel that sometimes trying to take time for me is like work. It's interesting that you put it like this. I can see that the connection with other adults (gasp- people who talk about things other than Scooby-Doo) would be quite enlightening. :-)

I'm a SAHM but I do a bit of ministry and other work. After a week of being home non stop with a sick child we had a marriage ministry planning meeting and I said you can talk about algebra all night, I don't care, you are adults and I'm just glad to be here!
